Vancouver is one of Canada’s most well-known cities. And with most big tourist cities, there are endless experiences to be had. While looking at homes for sale in Vancouver, you may be asking yourself what you will be able to do with your kiddos. Let’s go over some of the best activities in the city for families.

Visit the Museums

There is the Museum of Vancouver which exhibits the history of Vancouver from the early 1900s. Additionally, you can find stunning works of art from all mediums. They change some of their featured exhibits a few times a year. Currently, they are showing features of Chinese immigration to Canada and tying in cuisine and culture.

Museums are a pretty traditional activity when you visit a new place and there are multiple museums in Vancouver that you can add to your itinerary for your city adventures. If you’re a fan of professional and competitive sports you can check out the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.

The Vancouver Maritime Museum is where you learn all about the sea and the history of this city’s ports and coastal living. Not interested in the ocean? Not to worry! There is also the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia and the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. Ultimately, you can find a museum for whatever your interest may be.

Visit the Animals

Vancouver offers not only the Greater Vancouver Zoo but also Maplewood Farm which is home to over 200 different farm animals. You can find all of your favorites at Maplewood such as horses, cows, chickens, and pigs. They will even host your child’s birthday party. Located on the Seymour River, this farm is over 5 acres and could easily take up a whole day.

If Maplewood Farm is all booked up for birthday parties, you can also have it at the zoo. The Greater Vancouver Zoo is home to cheetahs, wolves, lions, and zebras. Plus about 20 other types of animals as well. They also have areas equipped with electronic dinosaurs with learning activities incorporated.

You could even choose to get closer to the animals by booking with an experienced Zoo Keeper to get up close and personal with your favorite animals such as bears or hippos. There is also the ability to camp and stay overnight at the zoo. You could really experience what it is like out in the wild with these animals.

Visit the Parks

With Canada being as beautiful as it is, you would expect a lot of parks all over the country. Some of the greatest are in Vancouver. There is the Exhibitions Park known as Pacific National Exhibition that has been holding events and a yearly fair since 1910. The park has amusement rides, shows, and live performances.

They hold a roller skate club for locals to get the community together and promote physical activity. They have bands that play at the stadium such as Alt-J, Tyler the Creator, and even Wu-Tang Clan. The annual fair also returns every year for a week and brings local vendors, creatives, and small businesses together for networking and fun.

In addition to all of this, there is so much more to be discovered. There is the Sea to Sky Gondola that goes over the whole city, Kitsilano beach and Kitsilano heated pool, and the Vancouver Aquarium where you can see all forms of sea life. The best way to make sure you can visit every attraction is by moving to beautiful Vancouver, you could fill a whole year with fun activities for your family.
